Get Your Sh!t Together


I just wanted to send out a Monday message to help you get organised and motivated and in the right mindset for the week ahead…

Over the years I’ve read loads of books on personal development. (It’s a bit of a hobby/interest for me), and has been since I was about 14 years old when I realised that these books were extremely motivating for me.

The biggest lesson I’ve learn’t is that putting in the hard work is what makes us successful over anything else.

And this lesson trumps all other strategies.

I have always been passionate about fitness, strength, and performance in my sports of choice, basketball and martial arts.

So because of this, i’ve studied people like Bruce Lee, Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James etc…

And I’ve noticed 5 common personality traits in these winners;

1. These people are extremely passionate and dedicated to their sport/craft

2. They put in more hours of practice/training than their peers do.

3. They are extremely competitive, and want to be the best at what they do.

4. They have an obsessive attitude towards being great and winning!

5. They simplify their lives to remain focused on their priorities.

When I pieced these things together, I easily realised what it would take for me to be great at anything I do.
Get Focused & Put In The Work!
I also realised that if we’re not doing what we’re passionate about, we’re just not going to put in the effort and hard work that’s required to be great!

This was obvious for me when I worked in the I.T world. I wasn’t truly passionate about configuring firewalls and network switches in a cold and lonely computer room.

And it became a big challenge over time to stay motivated (and happy).

This is when I realised that I never got tired or lost motivation around health, fitness and personal development education.

So I sucked it up and quit my job.
But before I did that, I worked in my full time job, and studied in the evenings until I had my qualifications as a Personal Trainer.

I got focused and put in the work to achieve my dream!
This opened up the doorway to move into setting up my own business, and entering into the fitness industry!

Once I moved into a lifestyle that was more aligned with my passion and my nature, I started to develop faster!

And success came easier.

If you’re feeling flat in general, and aren’t motivated and inspired to accomplish great things in your life, it’s likely that you’re not living a lifestyle that’s aligned with your true nature and passions.

So my question to you is…

What is your greatest passion? And how can you turn this into a lifestyle?

When you get really clear about your life’s purpose and what you’re passionate about, you come to the realisation that you need the best possible health in order to meet your destiny.

And THIS is what motivates you to be healthy!
Whether it’s to be the greatest parent, or grand-parent,

the greatest athlete,

the greatest business person,

the greatest student,

the greatest partner,

the greatest social worker,

the greatest teacher,

the greatest manager,

the greatest doctor,

or the greatest human being!

Your optimal health is paramount to your success!

And when you’ve really identified that life mission for yourself, you can’t NOT focus on getting healthier, fitter and stronger!

The Road Blocks…
Usually it’s yourself. Your fears. Your belief systems that hold you back from taking the “risk”.

These are all self-limiting.

The thing you have to keep in mind is that your life is short. Don’t waste it.

In fact, if you’re not doing what you want to do because you’re scared to take the leap, you’re devaluing life itself.

It’s not gonna be around forever.

And you’re not going to be young forever either…

So you can waste your life being scared to reach for success… Or you can just say f*!k it, and reach for your dreams with every ounce of passion you have inside of you…

There’s no guarantee you will win… But you will be a better person for it, you will learn a lot, and you will break through many self limiting beliefs about what you’re capable of accomplishing in this life.

I’d rather work my ass off trying to reach my ultimate goals and fail, than to not try at all and spend my life wondering what I could have achieved!
